DCPD Moulding
DCPD (Dicyclopentadiene) as a reaction injection moulded thermoset material, has enabled TEP to provide further variety in material and process selection. DCPD is particularly attractive to the agricultural and construction sector as large engine panels and bodywork, DCPD offers high mechanical strength and excellent dimensional accuracy.
The DCPD (dicyclopentadiene) moulding process consists of impinging two low viscosity chemical streams – one containing an activator (A component) and the other containing a catalyst (B component) into a closed mould under low pressure.Upon entering the mould a chemical exothermic reaction occurs creating a fully polymerised part in approximately 60 seconds.
The equipment used for this process allows parts of various sizes and complexities to be achieved.

TEP has continued to invest in its already extensive DCPD department by the introduction of impressive 3.5m x 3.5m hydraulic mould carrier, aswell as a material dosing machine capable of dispensing at an impressive 5kg per second, one of the largest in Europe to accompany the exisiting 4 plant units. The introduction of this new equipment not only compliments TEP’s five existing clamp units and two dosing machines but enables the company to manufacture some of the largest products globaly.
